lobby and public area smell like meldew and dirty
small room located accross narrow street with very loud night club noise till 4 am , bath tub surround with black meldew and dirty black mold .
Service was excellent in front of house and room staff. Facilities are good as is the location on the edge of Chinatown and handy to bars, restaurants and the MRT
very friendly staff very helpfull and polite, could not fault the hotel excelent stay.
The bed - very comfortable
We booked a hill side room and got a little box room. We requested a hill view and they moved us, which was good of them. However better communication between hotel and Booked.net would have avoided us having to make this request. Hidden charges they don't tell you about. $US for using the internet (travelled from Thailand down to Singapore and this was the only hotel that charged us). They also wanted to charge us for booking a taxi, which I found rather strange, and loads of phone calls we never made? I don't think I'll be going back in a hurry, in fact I doubt I'll be going back at all.
boutique style hotel and the service from reception. Location is great for those who wants to be in historical Singapore and like night life
Hotel need some renovation
Near to China town and Tanjung Pagar MRT.
No proper working desk and power point.
Enjoyed the old world charm and friendly, helpful staff. We were given a (very) quiet room, as requested. Great location for exploring Chinatown and close to MRT stations. Enjoyed the free newspaper outside our room every morning! Also the lovely old prints in the room and lining the corridors.
comfortable, good service, location near China town, old style heritage small hotel with dining room- also we were upgraded to a suite.
could offer a stand to get luggage up off the floor
good location, very clase to china town and maxwell food center, easy to walk to the metro station
bathroom in need of renovation, and more plugs
My Wife and I were pleasently surprised upon arrival with the courtesy of Staff as well as the olde-world beauty of the Hotel itself. We were presented with a complimentry drink at check-in which was a first during our trip after staying at four other hotels. The amazing Chinese Temple as well as markets are only a 3 minute walk. Perhaps not really suited for those with kids but ideal for couples. Will stay there again!!!
All positive from our perspective.
The hotel is a heritage building. The rooms period and we really loved the way the management has retained the look and feel. Besides the service was very attentive and helpful.
I didn't like anything about this hotel, infact I checked out at Midnight one night before my stay was due to finish because of the shocking noise from pubs across the street and the prostitute in the next room having a steady stream of different men making love in the room next to me loudly
The noise from across the street all night kept me awake
Great position away from the large hotels, an easy walk to Chinatown precinct and transport, interesting night time activities adjacent to hotel. Small enough for personalised service. We liked the ability to open windows !
Bar and Cafe facility would enhance the facility
The staff immediately responded to my unexpected accident.
Great location next to Chinatown, MRT station, and Maxwell food court. Friendly, helpful staff at 24 hour service desk. The street night life gets noisy weekends for street front rooms. Charming decor in Sino-Colonial style.
